The Yorkshire Dales
The Dales provides an excellent base for the great outdoors, with plenty of wonderful walking and cycling opportunities. Explore the beautiful surrounding countryside, visit the many Castles, Abbeys and Stately Homes in the area during your stay, or spend a relaxing hour or two in one of the many cosy Dales pubs which can be found tucked away in every corner.

Wensleydale
There's no shortage of attractions here, including 'The Forbidden Corner' in Coverdale, recently voted the best children's attraction in Yorkshire, and the renowned Wensleydale Cheese factory at Hawes.

For those who enjoy something a little more strenuous, visit Ingleton Waterfalls Walk with 4 1/2 miles of oak woodland and beautiful Dale's scenery and of course there is the impressive and towering 'Three Peaks' - Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent - which have been attracting walkers, climbers and ramblers for decades.

Hawes
"The capital of upper Wensleydale", The market town of Hawes is a 1 mile stroll away.   Hawes boasts a range of small shops, cafes and pubs and a local market on Tuesdays.   On the road leading to Gayle the Wensleydale Creamery can be found.   Other attractions include the Dales Countryside Museum.

Bainbridge
With its wide open village green, ancient village stocks and shady trees, overlooked from the east by the remains of an unexcavated Roman settlement, Bainbridge is a treasure for layman, historian and archaeologist alike.  Talk a walk along the River Bain, claimed to be the shortest river in England.

Askrigg
Instantly recognisable to viewers of the long-running BBC TV series All Creatures Great and Small will as the home of Skeldale House, the veterinary practice that was home to James and Helen Herriot, and Siegfried and Tristan Farnon. The Kings Arms made many appearances as the Drover's Arms.

The village's tall houses and narrow, cobbled streets circle St Oswald's Church.

There are walks of all grades in the surrounding area and some wonderful views including Mill Gill Force.
